This guide lists some of the books and educational kits that you can borrow from the Family Support and Resource Centre, the patient and family library at BC Children's Hospital and BC Women's Hospital + Research Centre.
In this guide, you'll find resources on sexual health that may be relevant to children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDDs) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Materials cover the topics of puberty, sexuality, relationships, body safety, and consent for children and youth as well as their parents and caregivers. The resources are suitable for a range of ages and reading levels—you know your child best!
Please tell us what you think of this guide, and our resources. The librarian at the Family Library will respond to your feedback.
BC Children's & BC Women's are programs of British Columbia's Provincial Health Services Authority. The Family Library is a library that empowers patients, families, supporters, and community members with health information. People in BC and the Yukon can borrow from our collection for free.
