eBooks for patients and families: Download a chapter

Your guide to reading eBooks in our collection. (This guide displays best in Firefox or Google Chrome.)

The slide show below explains how to download a part of your eBook. Use the side arrow icons to scroll through the steps.

You may want download a chapter if:

  • You want to keep a limited part of the book
  • You want to read from a PDF, which locks the formatting and displays tables and diagrams as they appear on the printed page

Check how many pages you are able to print to PDF or download.

Check how many pages you can download.

In this example, I can download up to 96 pages.

Scroll down to the table of contents. Choose a chapter to download.

You may be able to download more than one chapter. (In this example, I can download up to 96 pages.) You can read the chapter online first, to make sure you want to keep it.

Note: You will not be able to download more than 96 pages from this title, even if you log into eBook Central again.

After you download your PDF, you can check to see how many more pages you can download (if any).

In this case, I downloaded 68 out of my 96 allowable pages. I can download up to 26 more pages.
